In the Junior Leagues there will be a Gold Division and a Green Division.
The Gold division schedule is already up on the NRU Website. The Green division will be sent out nearer the start of the season.
The Gold Division demands that all teams participating field a full squad for every fixture during the season. If a team forfeits a game, they are deemed not in good standing with the Union and will not be
allowed to participate in the Gold division the following season. If teams are caught using unregistered players, over age players or underage players without the proper paperwork, they will also be deemed
not in good standing with the Union. Only teams in good standing will be able to participate in the Gold divisions of the Junior Development Program of the Niagara Rugby Union.
The Green division is based on developing the game for clubs who are attempting to provide Rugby at the junior levels, but struggle to get a full squad or are unsure of the commitment they may have. This is ideal for 1st year clubs or teams that do not have enough players to enter a team and do not wish for those players to go elsewhere. Teams that will not have a full squad may have tournament type games set up with an all comers type set up. This is also a great place to have a second or third team if numbers dictate for certain clubs.
Final standings in the Green division do not dictate promotion to the Gold. Teams seeking promotion into the Gold Division must fulfill all fixtures in the Green division. They must be able to field a minimum of 15 players per match. Only teams in good standing with the NRU will be considered for promotion into the Gold Division.
